Statistics - Number of Flashes
The ALDIS lightning database allows to count the number of cloud-ground flashes that occurred inside a specified geographical region. About 100.000 to 280.000 flashes are located inside the borders of the Austrian territory each year. Since 1992, when operation of ALDIS started, the highest number of flashes was located in 2006.
